Amantea (A ‘Mantia in the Amantean dialect) is an Italian municipality of 13 981 inhabitants  of the province of Cosenza in Calabria.
Amantea is a lively city rich in cultural traditions, events, works and monuments of historical and artistic interest, famous seaside resort on the Tyrrhenian coast located between Lamezia Terme and Paola.
The city is in two parts: the upper part that houses the ancient town perched on a rocky hill and the lower part lying along the coast.
Particularly evocative are the alleys and streets of the ancient village. Walking through the streets of the historic center you can see the strong contrast between the majestic palaces of the nobility and the humble houses of the people.
